What Is a Dedicated Server?
Due to the fact that Kinsta employs a finely-tuned hosting stack powered by Google Cloud Platform (GCP), the vast majority of websites can function without issue on our standard plans. Important Information About Kinsta’s Dedicated Servers
To begin using a dedicated server, you must must have an active Kinsta hosting package with sufficient traffic and disk space for all of your sites. If you are a Kinsta customer, you already have a hosting plan in place. Before we can migrate your site to a dedicated server, you’ll need to sign up for a hosting plan if you’re switching from another host to Kinsta.
If you’re purchasing a dedicated server for an upcoming traffic spike, be sure to choose a package that can accommodate the anticipated number of visitors.
For instance, if you are currently on the Business 1 plan (100,000 visits/month) and anticipate a traffic surge of 1,000,000 visitors, you will need to switch to at least the Enterprise 2 plan, which enables 1,550,000 visits/month.
The first month of a Dedicated Server subscription is non-refundable. However, the hosting plan itself is subject to our standard refund policy.
How to Purchase a Dedicated Server on Kinsta
If you’re interested in purchasing a Kinsta dedicated server, the first step is to collect information. Since provisioning and configuring dedicated servers takes time, it is essential to contact our staff and begin the process as soon as possible.
- If your site is already hosted on Kinsta, it may take up to three business days for our staff to configure the dedicated server once you accept our price and pay for the first month of service. Following the completion of the installation process, our team will manage the transfer of your site container to the dedicated server.
- If your site is not hosted on Kinsta, you must contact our team at least two weeks before the site must go live on the dedicated server to begin the discussion. This guarantees that our migrations team has sufficient time to relocate your site to Kinsta and for DNS to propagate globally.
